What Is Solo Travel: Follow These Basic 5 Steps To Get There

Is Solo Travel Weird?

1.You are Alone or Lone

Let’s not mix up ‘Loneliness’ with ‘Aloneness’, both are different. You may feel lonely even if you are with people, it happens when there is a lack of self-trust and self-love. Aloneness is when you feel complete with yourself, whether you are in a crowd or standing alone on the street doesn’t matter much.

Why do we go on trips and tours? because the human mind needs a change. When you travel, there is a change in atmosphere, place, people, culture, lifestyle, and experience about life outside your comfort zone. A Solo Travel is nothing but going single on a trip, sounds weird right? But after reading this article and further articles on this blog you will explore the mystery of Solo Travel.

2. Do You like Travelling

I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t like to travel. Travelling to places for leisure, site-seeing, rejuvenation, enjoyment, adventure etc. We travel with family, friends, colleagues, and groups. Even one can go alone, yes. It may sound a little meh but it’s practical. Many may not prefer going alone for a trip, they may not enjoy it. When we think of going alone on a trip, thousand of question pops up in our mind like fear, insecureness, boredom, lonely feel, risk factors etc. But many of us love our own company and they travel alone, generally called a solo traveller or backpacker.

I am also a solo traveller, I have travelled some places in India alone in the last two years. And utterly I have enjoyed it a lot. Here I will share my experience and reasons for going alone for trips.

Why Travel Solo

3. Why Solo Travel?

Going for a trip with friends gives you pleasure, with family you spend quality time but when you go alone you get an opportunity to know more about yourself. Can say self-introspection happens when you travel all alone. You get to know your strength and weaknesses better, you enhance your adaptability, you stop complaining, you enjoy Nature, get to know about history, art and crafts, Environment, People, their culture.

In your daily routine life, busy schedule and list of duties hardly you get time for self. Thus in Solo Travel, you get time exclusively for yourself. Here you have to take responsibility for yourself, you have to see your own safety measures, you get the chance to pamper yourself, you get to know people of different cultures and a lot more. Trust me it gives you more power.

4. How to Deal with?

People may react awkwardly, your family may not support you generally if you are a female traveller, your friends may see you with strange eyes, but it’s an all-natural phenomenon, deal with it and go with your heart. Obviously, it’s not so easy at times, you feel lonely, you feel scared, you miss home, you miss your friends, family, you feel uncomfortable but this is the challenge. If you are enthusiastic about travel, you need to come out of your comfort zone. You need to be a little bold to step forward, once you start you are unstoppable thereafter. It will definitely give you a sense of self-determination.

5. Where to Go?

Decide the place you want to visit, whether you love Beaches, Mountains, Forest, Historical places, a Spiritual destination or a Remote site, accordingly you have to plan. Not only seeing the site and visiting a place but you can do a lot of things you always dreamt of. You can follow your hobbies, like photography, interacting with other tourists, playing the violin on street, morning walk on the riverside, climb to a hill, walk through the forest singing your jingles, swim in the ocean, write your imaginations sitting in your hotel balcony, you can interview local folks and anything you love to.

In fact, we all are solo travellers in our lives. We have come alone and will go alone from this universe, we may be getting support from people, society, and nature to lead life but the journey is decided by us. The journey of life is nothing but solo travel. The way we learn so many things, we experience different tastes of life from the tour of life, likewise, we learn and experience many things from a Solo-trip. everyone may not enjoy solo travel, but people who need introspection to own life must enjoy solo travel, which I call Alone-trip.
